See our FacebookThis year, we are working along side Money Ready, a financial education charity, to bring a new economics curriculum to Mendip Green.
This week, Year 5 and Year 3 have had their first workshops with the Money Ready team.
Yesterday, was the turn of Year 5. They enjoyed all of the activities with Gina and her team. The children learned about budgeting, loans and interviews.
Today, the children learnt the skills needed to be a detective, builder and sports coach. They earned a wage completing their jobs and were able to either spend or save their money.

This time, our amazing support staff donned their outdoor gear whilst our teachers received training this morning. You will see from the pictures just how much work they have done 🤩
Having already filled an ENTIRE skip on Friday, the team filled ANOTHER today… and there’s enough rubbish to fill a further TWO!!!
- The overgrown garden and pond have been levelled and we are going to be developing a forest school space in the coming months 🌳
- A new sandpit will be ready to use in the springtime and will be an AMAZING asset during the summer
- we have begun to create a MASSIVE mudpit for welly boot play later in the school year 🥾
- The Cove has a beautiful new garden space 🥰
- EYFS have a new mud kitchen and improvements have been made to the outdoor area and indoor environments 🧑🍳
- Year 1 have enhanced their outdoor area, improved storage and worked on provocations within the classroom
- Planterboxes and gardens have been given a revamp and look BRILLIANT
- Breakfast and After School club have new OPAL-style toys 🧸
We are obviously SO grateful to the staff team for so much graft but NONE of this could have been achieved without the support of the PTA, who have paid for EVERYTHING 🙏
