We have had no barking so far AND she has even said hello to some of our visitors.
She has not crossed paths with Mr Carroll yet so this could all change but so far Thursday has been a Mousetastic triumph! 🤩
EDIT: 10:24am We went a bit early with that announcement. A bark has slipped out. But Mouse thinks this is not her fault because the door was opened in a very noisy way. She was just warning office staff about those door opening because she is all about threat management.
EDIT: 10:32 Many barks accidentally fell out of Mouse’s head. She has reflected on this and would like to apologise to Miss Manfield.
EDIT: 12:46 And we are back to being Mousetastic. Over two hours of being sweetness and light 🐭 ☀️ 🌈
EDIT: 16:00 Other than some exasperated sighing and 2 little rumbles which never brewed into full barks, Mouse has been a silent pooch all afternoon.
We are now entering Mouse’s ‘witching hour’ so are confident that, even with her best efforts, there will be much barking. 🙉

Here are a few things we have been up to at Mendip Green this week…
EYFS have been enjoying PE in the sunshine ☀ This term, the focus of lessons is agility and speed. The children have been playing lots of games to help them develop their speed. Catch us if you can 🏃
This week in Year 1, the children have been enjoying the sun in the outdoor area. There are lots of fun activities for them to choose from, including making bubble wands, exploring volume and capacity, and creating a large snake skin pattern.
Year 2 have been continuing to learn about measurement in maths. Last term, they learnt about how to measure using standard units for length and mass. This week, they have learnt all about volume and capacity using litres and millilitres, and how to measure temperature using degrees Celsius. They really enjoyed watching how the temperature rose in hot water and fell for ice water too. Why not try this at home? 😀
This week, Year 3 have learnt the rules of rounders. They showed off their throwing and catching skills!
Year 4 have started their new art unit by sketching birds nests. They used various different techniques with pencil to create so many unique drawings.
Year 5 have been measuring and drawing angles in maths this week. They are enjoying using a protractor for the first time.
Year 6 have enjoyed taking part in circuit training during their Active 20 this week.
A BIG SHOUT OUT: A big thank you to Mr West who is spending a long time everyday watering the new turf around the sandpit. It is the best maintained patch of lawn in the South West!
PUPDATES: we are very much enjoying Facebooks AI responses to our Dot and Mouse posts. It is quality entertainment! Dot has been snuggled up in a mountain of toys this week. We thought we had lost her at one point!

Holly has trained SO hard for this event - putting in huge miles alongside the busy life of a primary school teacher.
She’s raising money for Weston Hospicecare - a charity very close to her heart and one that has supported countless families across Weston.

We had such a lovely lunchtime. The children had a blast in the sand pit. They are making good use of all the sand toys you have donated.
Our new water table from Mendip Green PTA is well loved and we are looking forward to the delivery of a second one.
We are loving the drier weather and will be sharing heaps more updates over the next few weeks.
